Pool Construction Process

The pool construction process can be daunting if you don’t know what to expect. At Palace Pools, we keep you informed through every step while personally ensuring that each phase is completed to the high standards you deserve.
Excavation and Steel Work
When you’ve approved your design, we stake out your new pool so you can see what it will look like. We want to ensure that you are 100% happy with our plans. If you like the way the layout looks in your backyard, we will install the formwork and dig your pool. After the pool is dug and hand shaped, the steel rebar is installed. A building inspection will be done after this part is completed.
Gunite Installation
After the building official has inspected and passed your pool, The Gunite Crew will come and install the concrete structure over the steelwork. They will “shoot” the pool, benches and steps as designed in your pool plans. Once that is completed, the formwork will remove and the deck area and surrounding area will be cleaned up and graded in preparation for the plumbing and pool decking.
Tile and Plumbing
We then install the plumbing, making sure to use the most energy efficient Pentair pool products. We allow the concrete to dry completely before tiling and installing the coping on your pool. The underground electrical work is done during this phase also.
Deck Installation
If you decide you would like to add decking to your design, we will install it to add a nice, finishing touch to your backyard.
Natural Stone or Paver Deck – For stone decks, a natural concrete base will be poured, and will cure for two to seven days, depending on the weather. Then the selected stone will be laid and grouted. Brick Paver decks are installed on a compacted bed of small gravel and sand. The Pavers are then sanded to tightly lock them together. The edges are then cemented in for a permanent lock.
